8/28/2021 - Prior to the 2019 milfoil weed treatment, the Snyder’s Lake Association Board identified the need to develop a long-term holistic lake management plan. If we are proactive about the things that may negatively affect the lake, we can hopefully keep problems to a minimum. A lake management plan identifies the current state and plans for management and/or remediation for about five years. As changes to the environment occur, it can be modified as necessary or extended if things have not changed. Having a lake management plan is a prerequisite for NYS DEC grant submittals to obtain funding for environmental remediation activities. To see the planned outline of the Snyder’s Lake Management Plan, click here. The plan is already in the process of being developed and will be completed in December of this year. Please stay tunded as we will be scheduling public meetings soon to get the community’s input.
The total cost of this plan is approximately $20,000.00. We have been discussing this initiative with Town of North Greenbush officials and are happy to announce that they have committed to providing us with $16,000.00 to help pay for this project. We are now turning to the community for help in raising the remainder of the funds.
